Cambrian Watch

Welcome to Cambrian Watch, a community initiative geared towards generating greater public inclusivity and transparency from local and state government. In doing so, Cambrian Watch seeks to garner assurances that adequate safeguards against water contamination and environmental degradation are firmly adhered to in the construction of development projects in Burlington. In getting this initiative off of the ground, we are looking for public input pertaining to the Cambrian Rise housing project proposed at the former Burlington College campus on North Avenue. By creating a platform for the general public to engage with one another on this important issue affecting our city as a whole, it is our hope that this effort can facilitate the cultivation of an increasingly interconnected and informed community.

On June 6th, it was announced by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources that BC Community Housing LLC, the developing firm associated with the Cambrian Rise project, had formally submitted an application for an Act 250 permit. Cambrian Watch is currently in the process of petitioning for non-party participant status in the forthcoming proceedings.
